Why Considering Chain Binders to Tie Down Heavy Cargo Is a Good Idea

Companies that transport heavy cargo must follow strict guidelines to ensure the load doesn’t shift or fall off the truck. These include items like farming equipment, manufacturing machinery, and vehicles going to a dealership. For this type of cargo, experts that provide industrial products recommend binders for both a 5/16 grade 70 chain and a 3/8 grade 70 chain.

The length, weight, and type of cargo dictate the number of tie-downs required. However, the heavier the load, the more critical the Grade 70 transport chain and binders become. For all tie-downs, the working load limits should equate to at least 50 percent of the cargo’s weight.
